Electrical

The electrical group is responsible for all the electrical systems on board the car. This includes both the high and low voltage systems.
Battery Mechanical EngineerAs a Battery Mechanical Engineer, you will focus on designing and ensuring the structural integrity of the battery pack. You will work closely with the battery electrical engineers to create a safe and efficient battery system. Working with CAD, composite materials and the internal layout of the battery pack will be some of your main tasks.

Areas of responsibility
Structural design of battery systems. Internal and external
Material selection, thermal management and mechanical stress analysis
Ensuring compliance with safety requirements and regulations.

What do you get out of being a Battery Mechanical Engineer in Nordlys NTNU?
Experience with advanced materials and complex electromechanical systems
Collaboration with other engineering disciplines
Hands-on experience with battery technology and composite materials
Battery Electrical EngineerAs a Battery Electrical Engineer, you will focus on the design, development, and optimization of the electrical systems within the battery pack, in a team of both electrical and mechanical engineers. You will work closely with the battery mechanical engineers to ensure a safe and efficient battery system, focusing on the electrical busbar, precharge and safety systmes. Integrating the battery with the car's electrical HV and LV systems, ensuring electrical safety and testing the electrical components and battery cells will be some of your main tasks.

Areas of responsibility
Design and development of battery electrical systems

Mechanical

The mechanical group designs and builds all the dynamic mechanical systems of the solar car. Systems include braking, suspension and steering.

Chassis

The chassis group designs and builds the structural components of the solar car. Systems include the roll cage and the outer shell of the car.

Software

The winning team needs a winning driving strategy. The software group develops software analysis tools to calculate the solar cars optimal speed.

Brand

The Brand group is responsible for the development of the overall Brand of Nordlys. Given the young age of the organization, this is an important group that does not require a lot of previous experience.

Logistics

This group is responsible for the planning and logistics of competitions, testing and other activities. Nordlys is going to participate in competitions abroad and needs you to help us plan everything from travel, accomodations and food
